Braehead operates an internal Sunday League and Wednesday League, as well as its players participating in the Forrest Hills League and a number of open and invitational events.

Note to players: When you play in tournaments it will be the skips responsibility to ensure the result of any match/tournament goes to the results co-ordinator for the club.

Braehead celebrated yet another win in the 2009 Star Refrigeration National Pairs Championship, this time with Tom Killin and James Brown.

In a contest of very high standards, Killin and Brown came through a tense group decider to meet fellow Braehead pair Angie Malone and Gill Keith in the semis. This was another tightly played affair, but a deciding score against the hammer in the penultimate end saw Killin and Brown through to the final, where they met Michael McCreadie and Russell Shanks.

This year’s championship was played over five ends with each team only playing six stones. It was a new format and one well received by all players. It meant little room for error, though, so when Killin and Brown took three shots in the first end, it proved to be an uphill struggle for their opponents, with Tom Killin and James Brown running out 6-3 victors.

Please note that there has been a change in the format of teams for the Wednesday League and the Sunday League. All members are invited to attend and names will be drawn “out of a hat”. Teams will be decided on the day.
